Checking in

Hey guys,

Just checking in with you all to give you an update.  I've started back up with Insanity, at least for the next month, until my manpanion gets into town.  Can't say for certain that I'll be particularly strict about following the routine while he's out here.  I've also started back up with weightlifting.  I've just been really irregular about my exercise for the last couple months ... mostly due to some health issues that I think I'm finally moving past, so I look forward to re-focusing.

We worked biceps, triceps, and shoulders today. I definitely feel it.  While my triceps are getting stronger, I need to work my bicep strength back up.

My body is also sufficiently sore from day 1 of Insanity last night (and that was just the fit test), which is great.  I look forward to collapsing in a sweaty pile of tiredness after each workout.

I'll post what I did this morning, once I track down some examples.  In the meantime, I'll leave you with this little blurb I read in the December 2011 issue of Women's Health, page 30:

"In a study at the Technical University of Lisbon, women who were counseled to improve their body image lost a higher percentage of weight than those who weren't.  Poor body image can lead to emotional eating and anxiety, which hinder weight loss, says Ph.D. candidate Eliana Carraca."

Moral of the story?  You have to like and accept yourself, and things will start to pan out.  It goes for all aspects of one's life - not just weight loss.
